Comments on the Actuarial Merger Vote

The Actuarial Profession has published detailed results in relation to the defeated merger proposals but crucially omit to show the breakdown in the vote between Scotland and the rest of the UK.  In particular we still dont know whether the required two-thirds majority of Faculty members who voted for the proposals depended on the support of members based outside Scotland.

Otherwise the figures show fairly similar levels of support from UK actuaries and actuaries based elsewhere.

  1. Agreed, the information (requested as Resolution 3 of the Faculty SGM of 29 June, which was voted down) would have been useful. Councils seem to be keeping very quiet as to what their next steps might be.
