Spence & Partners, the UK actuaries and administration specialists, today announced that Marian Elliott, Director and Head of Trustee Advisory services at the firm, has been awarded the prestigious International Association of Consulting Actuaries (IACA) Young Actuary High Achievement Award at the International Congress of Actuaries held in Washington D.C. this month. Brian Spence, Founder of Spence & Partners, commented: “Marian thoroughly deserves this international recognition as she has made a significant contribution to the UK pensions industry, to her clients and the Actuarial Profession as a whole - all in a relatively short space of time for a young Actuary. Marian’s dynamic, pragmatic and enthusiastic approach to actuarial work is highly regarded by clients and industry professionals; and she highlights the positive impact a strong Actuary can have on a Scheme.” Marian joined Spence in August 2012 and has played a leading role in Spence’s expansion in the UK and Ireland. Marian was the only practising actuary to be featured in the Brummell 30 ones to watch list in 2013 which recognizes exceptional talent within the financial services industry and individuals who contribute both to industry change and providing inspiration to others. This new award is named in honour of Geoffrey Heywood MBE, the founding Chairman of IACA and is given to a consulting actuary aged under 40 who has provided significant services to the public and the actuarial profession.
