Ethan McIlveen is a motivated student and hospitality professional with a well-rounded skill set developed through both academic and work experiences. He holds impressive GCSE qualifications, including top grades in Mathematics, Business Studies, Further Mathematics, and History. Ethan is currently pursuing his GCEs, with predicted grades of B in Mathematics, A in History, and a Distinction in Business Studies (CTEC Level 3).
In his new role, Ethan enjoys problem-solving, a passion rooted in his love of mathematics. His perseverance and determination help him understand complex problems thoroughly. His history studies have honed his ability to analyze a range of sources and make informed judgments about their reliability. Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word has enabled Ethan to communicate effectively, organise tasks, and present information clearly. His experience as a prefect has further developed his organisational and reporting skills.
Ethan has been working with ‘Werkit’ in various casual hospitality roles. He excels in providing excellent customer service in high-pressure environments, such as the Waterfront Hall, where he caters to diverse clientele with specific dietary needs. His role requires effective communication, flexibility, and teamwork to ensure customer satisfaction at major events like weddings, concerts, and sporting events.
Ethan will begin his new role on September 1, 2024. Outside of work, he engages in activities that enhance his interpersonal skills and provide a balance to his academic pursuits. He enjoys airsoft, which teaches teamwork and strategic thinking, and has recently taken up model building and painting, which cultivates patience and attention to detail. Ethan is also actively involved in his school’s Rotary Club, where he has led community projects and fundraisers, gaining experience in budgeting, time management, and event planning.
